Assalaamu alykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
The Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity is a registered non-profit house of worship in the state of Michigan.
Our aim is for our values, conduct, and management to align fully with Islam. We believe in the Quraan and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, according to the understanding of the pious predecessors (as-Salaf as-Salih) - the three first generations (the Sahabah may Allah be pleased with them all, the Taabieen, and the Tabi’ at-Tabieen.)
We ask Allah to guide us towards what is best.
قال الله تعالى
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
سورة آل عمران آية١٣٢
Allah Subhanahu wa Taala said:
“Obey Allah and the Messenger, so you may be shown mercy.”
- Surat aali Imran verse 132
قال رسول الله (ﷺ) : "… فعليكم بسنتي وسنة الخلفاء الراشدين المهديين، عضوا عليها بالنواجذ، وإياكم ومحدثات الأمور فإن كل بدعة ضلالة"
((رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال : حديث حسن صحيح)).
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "...hold fast to my Sunnah and the examples of the Rightly- Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to it fast. Beware of new things (in Deen) because every Bid'ah is a misguidance".
