ICPV Building Exterior Construction Completion - Fall 2024 Update
Asalamu Alaykum dear brothers and sisters. By the grace and blessings from Allah, the Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity’s new Masjid building exterior construction has completed. Jazakum Allahu kulla khair for all the generous duaas, donations, and efforts that have contributed to this great milestone for the Muslim community in Portage, Michigan and the surrounding area. Inshallah more exciting progress updates to come soon bi’ithn Allah.

Summer 2024 ICPV Construction Update
Asalamu Alaykum brothers and sisters, we hope inshallah you have had a blessed summer. By the grace of Allah, ICPV has been undergoing productive steps towards building the Masjid building's exterior structure very soon inshallah.
We’ve alhamdulillah had all the underground plumbing installed, which will provide water to our wudu areas, restrooms, warming kitchen, water fountains and more.
In preparation for the building's cement slab pouring, metal rebar and vapor barrier were placed for reinforcement and protection.
Alhamdullilah the Masjid's cement slab was successfully poured, set, and cured, making the floor ready for both exterior and interior construction.

Ramadan & Spring 2024 Progress Update
Ramadan Mubarak our dear Muslim brothers & sisters. May Allah (God) accept all of our worship in this blessed month. Alhamdulillah ICPV’s construction is continuing to steadily progress through your sincere duaa, support, and kind & generous donations both big & small. Jazakum Allahu kulla khair, and may Allah reward us all with a house in Jannah (Heaven).
Here the City of Portage are connecting the water main and meter pit.
Our Excavation crew have also successfully installed the commercial underground stormwater system cited in ICPV’s Civil Engineering plans as required by the City of Portage.
This is the SciCloneX Hydrodynamic Separator filter, which is a part of the whole stormwater system.

Foundation Walls
It all begins with an idea.
Assalaamu alykum. Alhamdulillah. Today, by the blessings of Allah, the foundation wall was poured. In a continuation of the excitement of the foundation footings being poured earlier this week, the locations of the walls of the masjid building are now visible!

This is yet another big milestone in the journey of opening the doors to the masjid inshaAllah. Alhamdulillah, the excavators and all other construction team members are working hard and the workmanship is great. Below are some pictures of the progress. Allahumma barek.

Footings of the building foundation are in!
It all begins with an idea.
Allahumma barek, alhamdulillah! The footings of the foundation of the Islamic Center building have been poured. It is now set where the building is, and the full outline of the building is clear. What a monumental step that we are so incredibly thankful to Allah for. We can see where the mehrab is, the brothers’ entrance, and the sisters’ entrance! We are truly starting to see the plans on paper being built, alhamdulillah to the Most Merciful.
The next step is for the foundation walls to be poured inshaAllah. Check back here for the newest updates! Alhamdulillah things are moving along and we will keep you updated inshaAllah. Enjoy a few pictures of the newest development below!

Excavation has begun.
Alhamdulillah, by the Blessing of Allah, excavation of the land for the Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity has begun. We feel so thankful to Allah as we see the land starting to be excavated. We are finally breaking ground!

This is a huge step that takes us nearer towards building construction, and thus closer to opening the Masjid doors, inshaAllah. Let us make duaa for the successful continuation and completion of excavation. It has been exciting to see the land with excavation equipment digging up the soil, alhamdulillah.

Official Approval by the City of Portage
Alhamdulillah, The Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity has been officially approved by the City of Portage!
Civil Engineer Site Plan - officially approved by City of Portage
Assalaamu alykum,
Alhamdulillah, by the Blessing of Allah, the City of Portage has officially given its stamp of approval for The Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity to build on the land at 10340 Shaver Road in Portage, Michigan. All of the Civil Engineering plans and Architectural plans and designs have been officially approved!
This is a monumental step that we are so humbled and thankful to Allah for, as He willed for this masjid to be built here. Alhamdulillah.

Tree Clearing on Land
Alhamdulillah, the first big step in developing the land has been completed! The trees that were required to remove for land development for the Masjid have been cut.

Alhamdulillah, the first major step in developing the land for the Islamic Center of Portage and Vicinity has been completed! All of the trees that were required to be removed for land development and construction have been cut. We thank Allah immensely as we are able to finally start to envision the masjid building and parking lot on the now cleared land! May Allah bless and ease the upcoming steps inshaAllah.
